“a new music CD from a tremendous pianist, Canadian Réa Beaumont”
 CBC Radio 2
"Sometimes the planets align, and fortune favours the bold. These sayings only partially do justice to Réa Beaumont, who takes command of the stage of Glenn Gould Studio with a stunning set of contemporary piano works … Beaumont handles all of this repertoire with enviable ease. …You absolutely must hear this.” - The WholeNote (Toronto)
CD Review:  Creating a Landscape

About the album:
Recorded at CBC’s Glenn Gould Studio, Creating a Landscape
has an array of repertoire for solo piano, ranging from meditative to virtuosic.  A highlight is the world premiere of pianist Anton Kuerti’s virtuoso composition “Six Arrows,” plus John Cage’s meditative In a Landscape, Arvo Pärt’s ethereal Für Alina, Colin McPhee’s first composition Four Piano Sketches, Op. 1, University of Windsor professor Brent Lee’s *Subjective Geometries, and Order of Canada recipient Barbara Pentland’s moving work Vincula.

Dr. Réa Beaumont's
Creating a Landscape explores ways in which composers and performers have the ability to influence our auditory landscape and it features cover art “The Andes" by photographer M. Nelson.

*world premiere recording
Recorded: CBC Glenn Gould Studio; Producer: David Jaeger, Engineer: Dennis Patterson
