New CD
Réa Beaumont’s solo recording A Shrinking Planet was recorded at the Canadian Broadcasting Centre’s Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto, Canada, and is available internationally.
The CD includes a work written for Réa as a CBC Commission by esteemed Hong Kong born composer Chan Ka Nin, winner of two Juno Awards and the Dora Mavor Moore Award. The recording also features compositions by Canadian icon Barbara Pentland, award-winning composer Alice Ping Yee Ho and Polish composer Walter Buczynski, recipient of the Governor General’s Award and the Queen Elizabeth Medal.
The CD received its world premiere broadcast on CBC Radio 2’s “Two New Hours”. (CBC Radio 2 is a component of Canada’s public broadcasting corporation). The program “‘Two New Hours’ presents the finest in new concert music from Canada and around the world”. (www.cbc.ca)
